The Linwood Intermediate Choir is off to a wonderful start! We are thrilled that 43 choir members were at rehearsal today! The choir is already sounding wonderful and our members are eagerly learning a very special song that they will sing at our Remembrance Day service on November 10th called, A Better World.
For choir members who would like to listen to this song at home and practice their part please click on the following link:

George Waters Grade 6 Show Band Visits Linwood!
Students in Grades 4 & 5 were treated to a special visit today from the George Waters Show Band under the direction of Mr. Johnson. The Grade 6 students (including three alumni from Linwood - Tye, Tyler, and Helena) impressed us with their abilities on their instruments that they have only been playing since September! Mr. Johnson reminded our Grade 5 students that it's not too late to change their minds if they would like to try out a band program next year! Please see Mrs. Wurch if you would like any further information about middle years band programs!

MBCI Grade 8 Band & Choir Comes to Linwood!
Students and staff at Linwood were given a special treat today as MBCI's Grade 8 band and choir performed for us! Under the direction of Mr. G. Cooper (Toby Cooper's dad), the band surprised us with pieces from Star Wars, Indiana Jones along with other favourites. The choir beautifully demonstrated what our future choristers could be a part of if they continue to sing!
Linwood would like to thank Mr. Cooper for arranging for his band and choir to come and entertain us today! We really enjoyed the performance!

Room 6 Presents Earth Day Helper
Room 8 Presents "Spring Flowers"
Room 8 created their own song called Spring Flowers in music class today! They experimented with the rainstick to create the sound of rain and they created their own middle section using spring flower names which they used to improvise on the glockenspeils. We are hoping that their beautiful music will encourage the May flowers to bloom!

Attention Linwood Intermediate Choir!
Please click on the link above and practice one of our festival songs at home! I am including the lyrics below:
Part 1 Part 2
Listen to my song, listen to my singing.
Listen to my song, the music of my heart Listen to my song, the melody that's ringing inside.
Listen to my song, ringing inside.
All: If you really want to know me, listen to my song.
Listen to my song, listen to my singing.
Listen to my song, listen to my singing. Listen to my song, the music of my heart.
Listen to my song, the music of my heart. Listen to my song the melody's that's ringing inside.
All: If you really want to know me, listen to my song.
When I'm feeling sorrow, when I'm filled with fear.
When I'm overcome with joy,
Music makes me smile,
Music makes me smile, brings a tear. music brings a tear.
Part 1 Listen to my song, listen to my singing Listen to my song, listen to my singing
Song, the music of my heart. Listen to my song, the music of my heart.
Listen to my song,
Listen to my song, ringing inside the melody that's ringing inside
All: If you really want to know me, listen to my song.
If you really want to know me, listen to my song.
